Ariana Grande's has surprised fans by announcing a new song 'imagine' will be released later this week. It's the next track to be taken from her new album, following on from The Official Vodafone Big Top 40 Number 1 song 'thank u, next'.
Ariana Grande has revealed that her new song 'imagine' will be released this Friday morning (December 13th).
She announced the news on Twitter - simply writing: "'imagine' thursday night" - and posted a countdown timer to the release on her Instagram story. It adds up to Thursday night at midnight in the US (EST) which works out as 5am in the UK.

It seems 'imagine' will be a 'darker' version of her recent hit single 'thank u, next', which was about Ari's ex-boyfriends.
"A lot of this album mourns failed yet important, beautiful relationships in my life (as well as celebrates growth/exploring new independence)," Ariana wrote in response to a fan on Twitter.
kind of like... pretending it never ended. denial. but i look forward to you hearing it and having your own experience with it. you may take away something totally different and specific to your life! love u.

"But for those of you asking about 'imagine': I would say if 'thank u, next' [equals] acceptance... 'imagine' [equals] denial. Hope that makes sense."
Ariana continued: "Kind of like... pretending it never ended. Denial. But I look forward to you hearing it and having your own experience with it. You may take away something totally different and specific to your life! Love u [sic]."
It comes two months after the singer split from her fiancé, Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson. The couple started dating in the spring and got engaged shortly afterwards.
Pete was one of the exes that received a name-check in 'thank u, next', along with Mac Miller, Big Sean and Ricky Alvarez. The music video, which parodies iconic 00s films including Mean Girls, has had over 160 million views already.
