Ed Sheeran claims UK's first Number 1 of 2021

Ed Sheeran's 'Afterglow' has gone straight to Number 1 on The Official Big Top 40 this Sunday.
Ed Sheeran has extended his record as the artist with the most Number 1s on the UK's biggest chart show.
His new single 'Afterglow' has gone straight in at Number 1 on The Official Big Top 40 this Sunday afternoon.
It takes Ed to a total of 11 Number 1 songs, putting him further ahead of Calvin Harris and Justin Bieber who both have 9.
Justin also had a New Entry in the chart this week, with his new single 'Anyone' debuting at Number 13.

'Afterglow' becomes the first Number 1 of 2021 and Ed's first since chart-topping track since 2019.
He was last at Number 1 featuring on Stormzy's track 'Own It' alongside Burna Boy back in December 2019.
Asian Dub Foundation's anti-Brexit song 'Comin' Over Here' with Stewart Lee was this week's Number 2.
The Weeknd's 'Blinding Lights' was at Number 3. The song first entered the chart in 2019 and hasn't left it yet.
