One Direction proved popular with the crowd performing a mellow rendition of their brand new single 'Night Changes'. All the biggest pop stars in the world turned out for the annual American Music Awards in L.A last night. Here's a selection of the night's biggest performances including Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds Of Summer and One Direction.

Ariana Grande performs a special medley of all her biggest hits this year including a cameo from The Weeknd for 'Love Me Harder'.

5 Seconds Of Summer were on hand to add some rock grit to the star studded bash. They performed their upcoming single 'What I Like About You'.

Our very own Sam Smith did everyone in Britain proud with his stunning performance of 'I'm Not The Only One'. Rapper A$AP Rocky joined Smith on stage to perform his verse from the remix of the track.

Iggy also performed a medley of her track 'Fancy' as well as her brand new single 'Beg For It'.
