Film soundtracks are taking over the chart this year, following the release of two massive musicals.
The Greatest Showman is one of 2018's biggest cinema releases and now Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is ruling the box office.
Four songs from The Greatest Showman soundtrack have charted on The Official Vodafone Big Top 40 so far this year: 'The Greatest Show', 'This Is Me', 'Rewrite The Stars' and 'Never Enough'.

'This Is Me' by Keala Settle & The Greatest Showman Ensemble entered the chart in the very first week of 2018 and has remained there ever since, spending 30 weeks in the chart and reaching a peak of Number 3 on April 8th.
Keala Settle herself has struggled to comprehend the song's success, judging by her response on Twitter:
I am STUNNED YOU GUYS!!! https://t.co/lzSfCUeadE

This week another movie entered the fray: 'When I Kissed The Teacher' from Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again was a New Entry at Number 28.
The lesser-known ABBA song is performed by stars Lily James, Jessica Keenan Wynn, Alexa Davies and Celia Imrie in the film sequel.
Track | Artist | Highest position | Weeks in chart |
The Greatest Show | Hugh Jackman, Keala Settle, Zac Efron, Zendaya | 18 | 13 |
This Is Me | Keala Settle & The Greatest Showman Ensemble | 3 | 30 |
Rewrite The Stars | Zac Efron & Zendaya | 19 | 7 |
Never Enough | Loren Allred | 22 | 4 |
When I Kissed The Teacher | Lily James, Jessica Keenan Wynn, Alexa Davies & Celia Imrie | 28 | 1 |
The movie was only released two weeks ago in the UK (on July 20th) so this might not be the only ABBA entry in the chart this summer.
Who knows, there might even be a third movie soundtrack ready to storm the charts later in 2018!
