The Weeknd has scored his first Number 1 on The Official Big Top 40 with 'Blinding Lights'.

There's a new Number 1 and it's a first for The Weeknd, with his new song 'Blinding Lights' going to the top.

The closest that the Canadian singer has got to Number 1 before was 'Starboy' which reached Number 2 back in 2016.

'Blinding Lights' debuted at Number 5 on 8th December, dropped off over Christmas, and rocketed back up this week.

Tones And I's former Number 1 'Dance Monkey' was at Number 2 this week with Dua Lipa's 'Don't Start Now' at Number 3.

Halsey's new single 'You Should Be Sad' was the week's highest New Entry at Number 12 and the 25-year-old star will be joining Will Manning on the UK's biggest chart show next Sunday afternoon.

There were also New Entries this week from the likes of Selena Gomez and Roddy Ricch.
